On Friday the 23rd February the Didcot-Meylan Twinning Association held a social evening at Brightwell-cum-Sotwell village hall.
Anne-Marie and her daughter Julia provided musical entertainment (Une chanson en français, a song in English, une chanson en français, ...) and there was also a wonderful choice of food for the bring and share supper.
Anne-Marie delighted us with her amusing introductions to various songs by Brel, Piaf, Ferrat, Barbara and Aznavour which she sang passionately a capella. Julia sang rock ballads of her own composition accompanied by the guitar and proved to be a beautiful singer and talented musician.
The food break gave everyone a chance to talk to friends and share a drink and some lucky people won prizes in the raffle.
All in all a most enjoyable evening.
