19 Delegates from Meylan visited Didcot from 21 to 24 September 2006.
During their stay, on the Friday, they paid a visit to the Diamond Light Source Project at nearby Chilton adjacent to the Harwell International Business Centre. This was followed by a visit to the Vale and Downland Museum in Wantage afterwards returning to Didcot to a Reception in Didcot Library to view an Art Exhibition of paintings by artists from Meylan and Didcot
On the Saturday a trip to Oxford by train included a visit to “Oxford Unlocked” at the new Oxford Castle development, this was followed by free time in Oxford, lunching with hosts. In the evening the Twinning Association hosted a Civic Reception and Dinner at Brookes on the Park, Milton Park. The Mayor of Didcot attended and welcomed M. de Leiris, the Premier adjoint on behalf of Meylan's Mayor.
The visit ended at 08:00 on the Sunday with the visitors being wished a very fond farewell by their hosts as they left for Stansted airport by coach.
